Introducing our 2017 awards…as another year draws to a close, we look back at some of our own highlights from 2017. Riverside idylls, country retreats, city centre pied-à-terres: we are proud to have been instrumental in the sale of some particularly beautiful and inspirational homes. Here is our pick of the best properties in Bath that sold this year, see which one is your favourite…

Waterside Property of the Year
The Mill House, Midford SOLD
Original price: OIEO £850,000

Nestled on the banks of the Wellow Brook, this Grade II Listed mill house enjoyed an idyllic country location, but came with the added bonus of being within easy reach of Combe Down and Bath. Not surprisingly, it attracted plenty of interest, especially from keen anglers who loved the idea of fishing from their very own garden. The interior ticked all the right boxes too, with period features aplenty. A little piece of history, right on our doorstep.

View of the Year
Midford Lane, Limpley Stoke SOLD
Original price: £1.275 million

This stunning property in Limpley Stoke with its panoramic vistas across the Avon Valley (and all the way to The White Horse on a good day) was another highlight of the year. Sold in late summer of 2017, it came complete with a Piazzetta 3-sided wood burner that occupied centre stage in the open-plan living space overlooking more of those wonderful views. A real show-stopper…

Country Property of the Year
Oak House, Corsham SOLD
Original guide price: £1.5 million

An impressive family home that came with around four acres of land, but what really set this one apart from the rest was the glorious riverside setting and breathtaking views over the neighbouring valley. And all within easy striking distance of Box…no wonder it attracted so much attention.

Apartment of the Year
Henrietta Street, Bath SOLD
Original guide price: £625,000

This was definitely one for the party people, a wonderful ground floor apartment right in the middle of Bath, that arrived on the scene around August 2017. Newly refurbished just before it went on the market, it boasted some seriously impressive entertaining space in a sought-after road, and only a few minutes level walk from the town centre. Just wish we could have made the house warming…

Star Attraction of the Year
St Stephens Close, Richmond Road SOLD
Original guide price: £795,000

This chalet bungalow, tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac off Richmond Road showcased everything so popular with this style of property. Spacious, versatile and light it also came with a garage, parking and a good-sized garden. Location-wise, it was a hard one to beat: an easy walk to both Kingswood School and the Royal High, as well local primary schools, and only a short drive into the city centre. No surprise, then, that it proved so popular with our discerning buyers…and a very worthy recipient of our Star Attraction of the Year.
